Workshop Facilities
 

Overhaul and rebuild of all rotating equipment, mill components, crushers, pinion shafts, gearboxes, motors, fans, pump barrels etc.


These processes include:
 

  • Strip and diagnose all repairs.
  • Check and inspect for flatness, straightness, alignment, wear, fatigue, cracks etc.
  • Complete comprehensive inspection report.
  • Blast and paint all components to the original OEM specifications.
  • Machine, repair, replace all components that are required.
  • Fit all bearings, gears and components to the original OEM specifications.
  • Test run all components until temperatures stabilize.
  • Mount all components to purpose built transport frame with false brunelling attachments.

On Site Services
 

Burgess BLA’s on site services is second to none.  With it's three fully equipped mobile workshop semi trailers, B doubles and road trains, BLA is able to respond at a minutes notice to anywhere in Australia with its experienced team and equipment.

The experienced teams at BLA have developed knowledge and procedures to carry out installation and maintenance on large rotating equipment at high level.  These site services consist of the following:
 

  • Installation and maintenance of new or used ball, sag and cement mills, kilns, fans, crushers and large rotating equipment.
  • Removal of sole plates, refurbishment and re-installation to OEM specifications utilising flatness lasers & digital levels.
  • Replacement of large roller bearings up to 1800, with the development of a drive up attachment tool to reduce down time for the end user.
  • Replacement of all roller bearings with adapter sleeves and parallel bores.  This is achieved with the assistance of BLA’s large range of hydraulic nuts and the induction heaters, that can carry a 750 kg bearing and heat to correct temperature in 15 minutes.
  • Replacement of white metal bearings, brass slipper bearings, the installation and servicing of hydrostatic bearings.
  • Replacement of girth gears up to 40 ft in diameter and a weight of 80 tonne (aligning to Falk Engineering Standards).
  • Replacement of pinions with the installation of bearings and couplings.
  • Replacement of gearboxes and motors, including the transfer of couplings.
  • Installation of rack and pinions.
  • Shrink fitting of large hinge pins.
  • General mechanical maintenance.
