Mungari Gold Project

Installation
Mungari Project – 20kms West of Kalgoorlie WA

Job description: Installation 6.3 mtr by 10 mtr Polysius Ball Mill

Story: Burgess BLA was contracted by CIVMEC Construction and Engineering to carry out the installation of the 10mtr Ball Mill at the Mungari Gold Project in the Goldfields of Western Australia.

Burgess BLA considers that the project is one of the most successful installs ever achieved by the company, with the support of Civmec, Sedgman and La Mancha Mining. The Polysius Mills are unique in design, in comparison to its competitor’s with the innovative “COMBIFLEX” drive.

The concrete foundations were prepared and all elevation checked to ensure that the mill will be sitting in the right position. The trunnion bearing housings were prepared for install, they were set true and correct on the ground prior to install. This allowed the install to flow efficiently and reducing the installation duration. The mill was lifted in on 24th Day after Burgess BLA started the project utilising 2 cranes with a dual lift, the mill was placed straight onto the Hydrostatic shoes without any adjustment needed.

The mill was completely installed in 48 days under budget and ahead of time great result for Civmec, Sedgman and La Mancha Mining.
