In 1999 Burgess BLA changed the girth gear on their 36 ft SAG Mill. There had never been a gear of this size ever changed before in Australia. With thorough planning and structure a comprehensive method was implemented by Burgess BLA allowing the project to be completed in 10 days.

Once the project was completed Burgess BLA was then awarded the same job at ODO on their 34 ft SAG Mill. It was the turning point for BLA to become the most experienced mill maintenance and construction company in Australia.
